General Midi melodic bank
You can see the list of GM melodic instruments below. The
number preceding the instrument groups is important. This
is the so-called program number, i.e. the serial
number of the instrument within the bank.
Well, to make it more complicated, it has two types in
the world of music software: that starting from 0 and that
starting with 1 (we used this one).
It follows that the numbers of the instruments in our system
are between 1 and 128, and in the first case, between 0
and 127. It is worth paying attention to that, because a
Violin instead of a SynthBass2 can be astonishing
;-)
Although Reason doesn't support the program change command,
it's useful to know, which instrument should be loaded into
a GM midi file.

Drum map
We indicated the basic set with blue color, this in fact
corresponds to an average drum set of the drummer. We used
dark grey color to indicate the extended kit, you can find
here several (exotic) percussions. The drum sets
are in compliance with the General Midi rules.
In addition it is worth mentioning that:
- they contain the necessary exclusive zones* (for HiHats,
Guiro, etc.)
- the sounds are positioned properly in the stereo space
- certain drum sounds (Snares, HiHats, etc.) are layered
by velocity, i.e. the sound samples will be changed depending
on the speed of the keystrokes.
* the exclusive zone is an interesting thing. It means
that drum sounds of the same zone can never sound simultaneously,
and the new sound must extinguish the previous one. This
flows from the characteristics of certain rhythm instruments
and is very useful: for example it is impossible to beat
and scratch the guiro at the same time, just as you cannot
beat a HiHat in reality by pressing and releasing at the
same time
or-or.
